Varieties: Tempranillo, Syrah and Garnacha.
Tasting note: Smoked with aromas of black fruit and chocolate with hints of white pepper. Plush and enticingly sweet, offering flavors of blackberries and mocha. Great persistence and amplitude in the mouth.
Denomination of Origin: Costers del Segre.
Soil: Gravels of various quantities and soil and rock substrates. Formed in the Paleogene, they contain clay and silt with intercalations of conglomerate and calcareous sandstone from the foothills of the Prades mountains, which, in turn, raise the vineyard.
Height: 712 meters.
Agriculture: Organic and certified with CCPAE. Exclusive work with self-made organic fertilizers. Control of the origin of organic matter and firing temperatures. Plowing between vines with preservation of the ground cover.
Harvest: Manual in boxes and refrigeration of the whole grape, with strict selection of grapes grain by grain on a double selection table.
Elaboration: Pre-cold maceration of the grapes. Fermentation and short maceration of the skins in a 10,000 L tank. Fermentation between 22 and 26 oC.
Yeasts: Work on the identification and selection of autochthonous vine yeasts for inoculation during fermentation.
Ageing: Aging in first and second year fine grain French oak barrels for 9 months. Aged on lees for 3 months in underground cement tanks
